Topic:Ministry Of Defence
As we all Malaysians
know on the 11th of February, some 235 terrorist of Sulu region but
calling themselves the ‘Royal Security Forces of Sultanate Of Sulu and North
Borneo invaded a remote village of Tanduo,Lahad Datu. The death of two
Malaysian officers after the exchange fires between the police and the group
had led to the involvement of our Malaysian Army to handle the matters.
The Malaysian Army
swiftly took control of the matters after getting the approval from our Prime
Minister,Najib Razak by carrying out an operation called ‘Operation Daulat’.
The Royal Malaysian Air Force deployed three FA-18D Hornets and five Hawk 208
fighter jets.
Soon,it was over.Peace in Malaysia was restored and
it was happily ever after. But what if there is another attack from the same
group or maybe from a different terrorist organisation? Will Malaysia be able
to defend itself ? This was a question that has been in my mind for quite some
time now.
With countries like America,Russia,China,North Korea
and etc having better military equipments beyond the level of terrifying, does
Malaysia have the chance in protecting themselves from these threats?

Besides that, with all this better equipment and
stuff, the army must also teach our fellow soldiers in handling and utilising
these highly modernised weapons. The soldiers must be able to protect themselves
and protect their country with these modern weapons.
Last but not least, as a minister of defence, I
would like our country to have our own research and development in military
wise .The reason I’m saying this is that I don’t really prefer the constant
purchase of weapons from other neighbouring countries and stable countries.Yes
i know that Malaysia is a growing country and haven't achieve a stable form
yet,but in future i would really love to have our very own weapons to defend
for our country.
These some of the changes and suggestion that I
would like to implement as a Minister Of Defence.

I agree. Malaysia should definitely take measurements to upgrade their military system and also provide better training for future soldiers. We should always be prepared for the future. Prevention is better than cure. Well done! :)

ReplyDeleteI agree that we need to provide better training fot our soldiers but do we have enough allocation to upgrade our military equipments? If I'm not mistaken our country bought a military submarine few years back and most of the people said that it was unnecessary and the money should be used for better purposes. Don't you think the military equipment we have now is enough to protect our country as we are a still developing country?
ReplyDeleteWhy not enough? Yes,the submarine scandal was a big issue and was a flop plus the people said the money should be put to a better use. That happened because there was involvement of corruption in that deal by our Prime Minister himself (who was a defence minister at that time). He bought two Scorpene-class submarines. Thus, some of the money which was supposely part of the deal went 'so called missing'.So there is actually money somewhere over there 'hiding' which we can actually put to use in upgrading our military defence.

So what your saying is that we are 'secure' enough with our current military resources and assets since we are a developing country? Yes I agree that we are a developing country so we dont really need to focus on military since our prime aim is to achieve well in economy, but I did state this in my article only in a different manner. I said we should be developing our own weapons in the future when we are fully a developed country.Same thing goes here, we need to some how rather increase our weaponry state in order to protect ourselves from and another World War! We can see that around us,look at North Korea, they have already produced about 4-8 plutonium nuclear bombs! Can you imagine that!! Try to imagine if the have that much of nuclear bombs at their disposal, what about their air fleets?naval ships? even worse there are rumours that the have already produced their own biological and chemical weapons! like the one similar to the Hitler's method gasing the Jews only this one would be more modern and deadly! So are we still safe and is it enough to protect our country with the existing asset of military equipment?

DeleteI totally agree with your statements above...we should increase the number of equipments in our military forces in order to handle and utilise those highly modenised weapons. This should be done, so that the soldiers enable to protect the country and themselves.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI agree with you.Malaysia military forces should produce well trained soldiers in order to protect our country.Soldiers should be able to protect against attack under any circumstances.Well done!

DeleteYa.I agree with you. The Ministry of Defense should be in an advanced level of attacking the terrorists and save our country. All parties includes government and non-government organization should cooperate with the Defense Ministry to have a peaceful country for the Malaysians...!
