As the Minister of Rural And Regional Development Ministry I will be use my power to develop the rural areas to become better and make our country Malaysia to be well known and competitive among other foreign countries. I will be use our ministry’s budget announced by our Prime Minister which is worth about RM 4.5 billion (Speech Budget 2013) to be used to develop the rural areas. In my opinion the main issue that makes the rural areas to be uncomfortable is the basic Infrastructures and Facilities. The Government facilities are not enough and not nearby these rural areas. For example, Government Hospitals, Clinics, nearby shops, nearby towns and others.

So, I will be use my power to bring these facilities to be occupied by people at the rural areas. Then, the main thing is I will be request the Health Ministry to send a lot of doctors to be in the Hospitals of these rural areas at anytime. Because nowadays I have been find out that there are a few doctors only in the Hospitals of rural areas. And the treatments are also not good as well as the workman ships. The people have to wait for long hours to get the doctors treatment. The people faces a lot of difficulties on Minor operations also and lastly the doctors need to send the patients to well known Hospitals, this is because the facilities in the Hospitals of rural areas are not enough. The government have to take initiatives to build Hospitals that complete with all the facilities and infrastructures at the rural areas. So the people of the rural areas will be healthy and provide their distributions to Malaysia.

Other than that, I have been done some researches and came out anger with the issue of the cleanliness. The village people threw the rubbish at any places at the rural areas. They have no acknowledgement of how to dispose rubbish properly. I will arrange campaigns and talks about management of cleanliness to have self awareness on disposal of rubbish among them. I also will be alert the district offices of every rural places to send rubbish truck to each place to collect rubbish twice in weekdays and once in weekend. I will fine the people whom is conducting open burning and let them know about the effects of open burning by cooperate with the Non-Government Organisations to have talks and campaigns about this issue. This will lead to a country with safe environment and will be better place to live for Malaysians in the future.

Lastly, I believe that these ways can make the Rural and Regional Development contributes for the developments of Malaysia with the cooperation of everyone.

  1. Yes i agree that many doctors are needed in the rural areas. People with chronic diseases need to be consulted immediately. In this context, higher number of doctors should be sent to rural areas. Speaking about the cleanliness, in rural areas cleanliness is not maintained, thus it creates an unhygienic environment. So it is also a good way of implementing a step by sending rubbish trucks more frequently as mentioned,

  2. Yes I strongly agree with you that the rural areas should not be lacking of medical aid or ignoring cleanliness. The government must have initiative to develop those areas as it also part of our country and reflects on our nation. Fantastic work!

  3. I agree with your statements. The hospital which located inside the rural area is not really function at all. The facilities inside the hospital are very less compare to the hospital in city. The patient in the rural area will also sent to the city. It take more time to the patient. This will cause the sickness of the patent getting worse. Nice try!

  4. Great article! But i still find that even though when the authorities puts up a sign that indicates 'Do not litter in this area or else you will be fined RMXXXX.XX' , the residents surrounding the area or immoral people walking by the sign throws the rubbish right below the sign or beside it, as if the are mocking it. How are you as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development going to overcome this problem?

  5. I completely agree to your statement ...One of the best method that I found from this article is sending a lot of physicians to rural area which makes the people's life more comfortable at there...Good job Nathan!!!
