Environment
Malaysia is well known
as a country that is 58% covered by forest. But then, Malaysia largest
agriculture is oil palm. This has become Malaysia second largest income from
export. Malaysia wanted to increase the annual export earnings by exporting the
palm oil. Palm oil is a large tree which can occupy as much as 70 square
meters. So, that is why many of the forest are cut down and replace by the
plantation of the oil palm.

While the deforestation
happened, it had caused many environmental problems, such as greenhouse effect.
Greenhouse effect in Malaysia is getting more serious. The temperature in
Malaysia is increases as the carbon dioxide is increases.
The Green House Effect
According to YB Dato’
Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui, the Ministry of energy, green technology and water,
that the greenhouse gas emission has increased essentially by 13% and 32% per
GDP and per capita respectively between 1994 and 2000. The total greenhouse gas
emissions increased by 55% in 2000 when compared with the 1994 levels. In the
other hand, the deforestation problem had caused the animals to lose their habitat.
As you can see, the baby elephant is trying to wake its mother with its trunk.
The mother elephant had been poisoned by ingests the rat poison. This is how
the workers prevent the animals to eat the fruit from palm oil.

To reduce the
deforestation in Malaysia, reforestation must be done. Reforestation is the
opposite way from deforestation. Reforestation is the healing process after the
deforestation. In reforestation, forest is replanted with the trees. In years,
the forest will be alive again. By reforestation, the deforestation will be
slow down as the trees could be cut at slow rate. By cutting each tree, a new
tree will replant.
Replant instead of destroy it
Other than that, there
is also a special cropping technique which will enable for planting crops
within forests. The special cropping technique is by using the concept of
intercropping. This will be a great help to anti-deforestation if it taken
seriously.
The concept of intercropping
Launching a campaign
about “Let’s together protect Wildlife” is important so that the public are
aware on the essential extinction of wildlife animals. By this campaign, it
will increase the knowledge about the value of biodiversity, threats and also
action in other to help to conserve wildlife in the country. Parents are good
role model for their children, so that their children can follow the
‘right-doing’ of their parents.
Our home, Malaysia will
become naked in the next 20 or 30 years.Nature is the main resources of life.
We must protect them instead of destroying them. Let’s protect them together!
Love Our Forest! Love Our Home! Love Our Malaysia!

ReplyDeleteYes I agree with the point that we must carry out campaigns to the public. This can create awareness to the public. If each of us neglect our accountability to conserve the forest, our country will have a high possibility to become naked in the next 20 or 30 years and the upcoming generation will not have the chance to view the tropical forest of this country.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It is quite pity that our next generation could not view the "real" forest. They only can know it from the books. We should try all our best to protect our forest, if not i will be distinguish in one day. Let's together protect our forest!
DeleteYes I totally agree with you that reforestation must take place in order to balance our ecosystem and to save our environment and also to prevent global warming. Furthermore, campaigns must be carried out to increase awareness of the general populations about the serious issues of deforestation. Great article! Good job!
ReplyDeleteThanks! If we do not protect our forest, our country, our mother earth, then who will going to protect it? So, let's us together protect our forest, our country and also our mother earth! So that our next generation will still view the beauty of the nature!
DeleteHi. I agree with your opinion. Can you explain more about the concept of intercropping? Because this concept is not widely used.
ReplyDeleteHi there. I would like to say thank you because u agree with my opinion. The concept if intercropping is the cultivation of two or more crops can be plant at the same time in the same field. By using this concept, we can have save so much of space in Malaysia in order to destroy the forest and plant a new crop on it. Yes. It is still not widely use in Malaysia. So, in order to increase this type of concept, we should have start with a campaign first. This campaign is not an activity or a public speaking in a big hall, it was a campaign through multimedia. People nowadays always involve with computers and mobile phones, so through multimedia, most of the people will know the advantage about the concept of intercropping. Hopefully,i could have answer your question.
DeleteI agreed what you telling there. The one of the important factors that we are facing now, green house effect. Reforestation is a good way to overcome this situation. The intercropping concept is also a good way to overcome the situation but there is still not common use. Hopefully this method can spread the world and save our earth.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your agreement. The concept of intercropping concept is not really commonly used in Malaysia. So, to increase the use of concept of the intercropping in Malaysia, government should become a good role model to start their planting with the concept of intercropping then the society will follow the method as to save the environment.
DeleteI agreed, Malaysia is one of the country rich with forests. There are many deforestation of forests around Malaysia. This may lead to many environmental issues like increase in earth temperature, greenhouse effect and global warming. It eventually causes a lot of side effects to the public. Therefore, the ministry of natural resources and environment should enforce a lot of good ways to prevent deforestation like replantation as it was mentioned in the article.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your agreement. As the forest in Malaysia is getting lesser then before, we should start to prevent the forest to become lesser anymore. Let's us together to protect our environment, so that our next generation still can see the real forest with their own sight, instead from the internet and also books. It's pity.
