Cybercrime are crime committed over the internet. The Encyclopedia
Britannica defines cybercrime as any crime that is committed by means of
special knowledge or expert use of computer technology. Cybercrime could
include a variety of criminal offences and activities. Example activities that

countries in the world to introduce cyber laws. An example of such cyber is the
Computer Crimes Act 1997. This cyber law addresses and looks into areas of
cybercrime activities.
Cybercrimes is defined as crimes committed on the internet using the
computer either a tool or a targeted victim. Report made by authorities showed

than 10 percent increase than 2007, but the analysis is only from complain they
receive. Cybercrime is very hard to be detected because lack of technical
expertise to deal with criminal activity. Second, once criminal activity has
been detected many businessman are reluctant to lodge a report because they
afraid of publicity.
There are 3 major categories of cybercrime which are crimes against the
person, property and the government. The first category of cybercrime is against
the person. Cybercrime against the person includes harassment through email or
cyber stalking.Harrasment can also be included sexual, racial, religious, or
others. This crime usually happens to woman’s and teenagers.Second category of
crime is property. Cybercrime property is where cybercriminal can take the
contents of individual’s bank account. The most famous method of getting people
bank account is the money transfer email scam. Besides that, People receive
emails requesting help with transferring funds from another country. Hacking
into company website and stealing information is also another way of cybercrime
property.
The last category is government. Cyber terrorism is the most serious
type of crime in this category. Hacking into a government website, particularly
military website is one of the most serious terrorism. The example of
cybercrime is web jacking. By web jacking hackers gain access and control over
the website of another, even they change content of website for fulfilling
political objective or for money. The communication and multimedia team of
Malaysia should start realizing that cybercrime is also a big and serious issue. The leaders should
not just make empty promises and then conveniently forget them.

Looking at your facts, I strongly believe that some efforts should be taken to prevent cyber crime. As to my own opinion, I would suggest that the government should come up with more professional IT people to solve these problems. There should be a good tracking system to detect criminals on cyber crime.
