Topic: Ministry Of Health

In 2013,  an alarming 3.6 million adults are estimated to be affected by diabetes in Malaysia, according to the Obesity Prevention Council President, Jong Koi Chong. He said  the number was very high and has put Malaysia as the number one country in Asean for having the highest number of diabetics and sixth in the western pacific region. Diabetes occur because the blood glucose level in our body is high enough and insulin does not convert glucose to glycogen hence the blood glucose level remain at high level.

To overcome this serious problem , Ministry Of Health playing an important role . If I am Ministry Of Health , I will organize a campaign called ‘Say No To Diabetes’ to  raise public awareness of diabetes .  In this campaign , public will know more about how the diabetes occur and how to prevent diabetes . Organizer can invite some nutritionist to teach public how to prepare a healthy diet to prevent diabetes.

As a Minister Of Health , I will build more hospital in rural area such as Sabah and Sarawak .  In order to overcome diabetes , I will increase the number of hemodialysis machine in the hospital and  giving free treatment to the poor patients which have diabetes problem.

Next , the manufacturing industry should cooperate to Ministry Of Health to reduce the amount of sugar in the food product. The manufacturing industry must show the sugar level on the food labeling . The industry who fail to do it will be fined or suspended licenses .

If all the people cooperate to Ministry Of Health , the number of diabetes confirm can be reduced . The most important thing to prevent diabetes are maintain a healthy lifestyle and reduce the sugar intake .Start form today onward , lets all the Malaysian say NO to diabetes .

How it will overcome diabetes problem that already occurred with dialysis machines?

  4. Yes I totally agree with the points that you mentions on how to reduce the number of diabetes. But can diabetics occur though the genetic variation? Is there any way to solve it?

    1. Type 1 Diabetes is inherited. If you have the genes, you will get Diabetes, and you cannot avoid it. If only one of your parents had Type 1, then you probably will not have it. The way to solve it is maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  7. I agree with your suggestions. Malaysia has the highest rate of diabetes in the region. By 2020, it is predicted that there will be 4.5 million diabetics in Malaysia above the age of 18. This is an alarming rate. I strongly urge the public, especially those with families, to maintain a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. For sure, your suggestions will reduce the amount of diabetes patients in our country.

  8. i totally agree with your suggestion. well i would like to suggest my opinion. it's better for us to look for methods of making our favourite foods. just because you have diabetes does'nt mean u must give up all of our favourite foods. just look for ways to make these foods better for us. Diabetic cookbooks are full of scrumptious recipies design for people with diabetic.

  9. Malaysians love sweet foods, and the rate of diabetes in Malaysia is one of the highest in the region. Therefore, the government increase the price of sugar as a means to encourage people from reducing the consumption of sugar in their food and drinks to reduce the danger of diabetes among Malaysians. Najib said it was hoped that the business community would not burden the people by increasing the price of sugar, but instead reduce the content of sugar in food and beverages. “Moderate intake of sugar is acceptable. However, if taken excessively, it may be harmful,” he said. So, by increasing the price of sugar also can help to reduce the diabetes problem.
