Ever
since Malaysia achieved independence, its transportation system have advanced
drastically. From the wooden cart, beca and chariot to beautifully
designed cars, airplanes, wider tarred roads and longer rails. Our country has
increasingly developed over the past 56 years.Evidently, none of this could be
achieved without the effort of all the government ministries and certainly not
forgetting our country citizens. However,as much of the benefits the development
brings,it also has bring along many problems that has to be outmanouvered .2013-121797

One of the biggest problems are the petrifying road accidents that multiples each year.According to Department of Statistics Malaysia, 397,194 road accidents were recorded in 2009 as compare to 328,268 in 2005 , an increase in 21%.Fatal accidents also increased by 11% in 2009(6,218) compared in 2005(5,604).The highest type of vehicle involved in road accidents in 2008 is motorcar achieving 436,782 in number.According to Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research(MIROS) road accidents increased to 414,421 in number with 28,269 road casualties in 2010 resulting in an increase of 4 %.

According to the Road Transport Department(JPJ)
the total vehicles until 30 Jun 2013 is 23,376716.An increase number of vehicle
will eventually increase level of accidents in our country . Thus,in my opinion
the citizens should be encouraged to use public transport more frequently. In
order to encourage citizens, public transport services should be upgraded.

Well I totally agree to your suggestion that the citizens should use public transport as much as possible instead of of their own vehicles as it will reduce the number of vehicles on the road and of course improve the traffic conditions, thus reducing the possibility of accidents taking place. Motivational campaigns regarding this matter should be organized. Finally, in my opinion, licences should be given that easily to all who attends for driving lessons, the instructors must be stricter and make sure that the driver known every details about driving especially focusing on the importance of their safety as well as the public.
ReplyDeleteThanks for agreeing with my suggestions. I do agree with your opinion that licences should not be given easily to drivers and the instructors should be stricter. :)
DeleteI strongly agree to your suggestions that noticeboards should be properly placed to indicate and guide drivers, so that they can be prepared in advanced! This method would most definitely decrease the number of road accidents drastically.
ReplyDeleteThank you for agreeing with my suggestions:)
DeleteI agree with your article. The Malaysia government should not give the license easily to the bus drivers especially. The bus drivers have to be given extra course about the road safety by the expert.
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with your suggestions about the passenger information system. This system helps the passenger from not wasting their time and energy waiting for their public transport.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your suggestion on the efficiency of public transport should be maximized in order to decrease the number of vehicle on the road to prevent accidents as one's life should be very treasured. In my opinion, car pooling should also be considered as an option because not only it decreases the rate of accidents, it also minimizes the pollution caused by the vehicle itself. After all, an healthy environment leads to a better lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your points as in Malaysia public transportation is very comfortable and reliable. By using the public transport we will not only reduce road accidents but we will also be able to reduce pollutions and traffic jams.
